About Dr Sam Gartland
MB ChB BSc (Hons) MRCP (UK) FRACGP FASLM MSPMED
Hello, I am Sam Gartland. I am a doctor on the North Coast of NSW. In 2008 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was fortunate at this time to get lifesaving knowledge and guidance from Professor George Jelinek and The Gawler Foundation.
The importance of Mental balance, Nutrition, Lifestyle and Connectedness became clear to me. These insights informed my recovery then and my practice as a Doctor now. I have been relapse-free since 2009 and am in the best shape of my life. All diseases can be positively impacted by addressing these issues and many reversed.
The purpose of this website is to empower others with the knowledge and resources to improve their own health. The information presented here is the best available that I have found using my skills and knowledge as a Doctor and as an informed patient.

How Dr Sam Gartland can help you?
Lifestyle Medicine
Lifestyle Medicine is the foundation of good health.
Lifestyle Medicine is built on a foundation of evidence-based, peer-reviewed research that empowers people to be active partners in their own healthcare. It is an approach to healthcare that goes beyond the conventional status quo to deliver a truly holistic, 360-degree healthcare program.
We think of many chronic health conditions as ‘par for the course’ when it comes to modern life. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Many of these can be prevented, stabilised and, in some cases, reversed by applying therapeutic lifestyle modifications. Conditions including Cardiovascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Neurological Conditions and mental health conditions all share common risk factors that can be positively addressed with Lifestyle Medicine.
